A brief for Golfzon™ · from Get Lucky Golf

Every Virgin Activeclub in the world.Starting in South Africa.

A golf zone in every Virgin Active club: 230 clubs, eight countries, 1.2 million members. Chapter one is 200 simulators in South Africa. We are choosing the platform now, and we think it should be Golfzon™.

230 clubs · 8 countries · 1.2 million members · South Africa first

Chapter one

South Africa.

Virgin Active's largest territory: 136 clubs, 623,000 members, 35% of group revenue. Two bays in a club, one in the smaller clubs, booked like a padel court.

The proposal goes to Virgin Active this quarter. We walk in with a platform, a reference design and a price. We would like the platform to be Golfzon™.

  • Virgin Active has already started. Its first Collection Country Club, opened by Sir Richard Branson in Cape Town in February, includes a golf simulator. More Collection clubs follow in 2026.
  • The members are already there.623,000 members walk past the bay on every visit, and 139,000 handicapped golfers want a winter and weeknight home for their game.
  • South Africa is the proving ground.Virgin Active's largest territory and Get Lucky's home market. The numbers from 200 bays here carry the golf zone to the rest of the group.

  • Pricing for 200 unitsBy bay type, in three phases. Financing modelled with RMB; open to the partner best aligned with Virgin Active.
  • Two reference designsA two-bay zone and a one-bay zone: footprint, ceiling, power, acoustics.
  • A Southern African service modelInstallation, training, spares and support for a 136-club chain.
  • Network Play and the TourChain-wide leagues, Golfzon™ Global membership, a Southern African leg of the Golfzon™ Tour.

Chapter two

The world.

One brand, eight countries, one membership that already crosses borders. The same golf zone, on the same platform, goes from Cape Town to London, Milan, Sydney, Singapore and Bangkok. A member at Sandton plays a member at Chiswick.

The platform decision is a group decision, made once. Golfzon™ gets the South African numbers first, from its own telemetry, and they carry the group.

Why Golfzon™

The platform we want on the door.

The world's largest simulator platform, the official simulator of the U.S. Open, already selling to gyms. What Golfzon™ does not yet have is a global health-club group as a reference customer.

The U.S. Open's simulator

The line that sells itself in every club, and to every South African who remembers 1994 and 1997.

13,000 venues

Golf Digest's best simulator seven years running. 240-plus courses. The moving swing plate nobody else has at scale.

Gyms are your vertical

Golfzon™ sells to fitness centres today. A 230-club group is the case study those pages are missing.

Leadbetter in the practice bays

Coaching is half of a gym's golf product. Golfzon™ Leadbetter content makes Virgin Golf a place to get better.
